“Chicano/a/x Prints and Graphics: Selections from the Hispanic Research Center’s Collection, 1980–2010” showcases a partnership between ASU’s Hispanic Research Center (HRC) and ASU Art Museum and brings together works from the 1980s into the 2010s drawn from the HRC’s dynamic collection. Featuring over 30 artists who each offer a kaleidoscope of perspectives on the Mexican American experience, this year-long exhibition pays homage to the ideals of the Chicano Movement of the 1960s and 70s and expands upon them through the widely disseminated medium of prints. Presented in two parts, this unique exhibition underscores how Chicano/a/x artists have employed prints and graphics to build community, engage with social concerns, and interrogate shifting notions of political and cultural identity over time.

Rose, Annette Maria Sexton-Ruiz (United States, b. 1958), Patssi Valdez (United States, b. 1951) and Larry Yáñez (United States, b. 1949).


“Chicano/a/x Prints and Graphics: Selections from the Hispanic Research Center’s Collection, 1980–2010” is organized by ASUAM Senior Curator Alana Hernandez and ASUAM Curator Brittany Corrales and is made possible by funding provided by the Evelyn Smith Exhibition Fund. Additional funding is provided by ASU’s Hispanic Research Center and The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. The exhibition is presented in collaboration with a Community of Practice composed of Carla Chavarria, Community Building Director, Iconico, and Carla León Celaya, PhD candidate in the Spanish Department at the School of International Letters and Cultures, ASU.

Floating seeds roam the drylands, intending to make deep forms. Floating seeds are vessels searching for potential life, simultaneously suspended and rooted, architects of their own making. We find floating seeds at the porous intersections of landscape and architecture, visually manifesting their underlying networks, ecosystems, and cultures. Making deep forms is a way of reworlding—an attempt to view things differently—refuting binary order to speculate the future. Floating seeds make deep forms on a path toward becoming, being, and knowing by reflecting the complexity of their entangled networks and testing their existence. Floating seeds make deep forms through new structures that emerge as palpable auras of transformation.

Los Angeles-based artist Cybele Lyle explores place and identity by reconfiguring architecture, interior space, and the natural environment in her installation, video, and 2D works. Her first solo museum exhibition, _Floating Seeds Make Deep Forms_, is a site-specific installation that reimagines deserts of North America as liminal expanses for ambiguity within a regenerative ecosystem and positions architecture through the lens of queer space, a responsive site to the natural evolution of identity and environment.

SMoCA’s _Architecture + Art_ series presents ground-breaking projects by individuals whose work explores and challenges the boundaries between architecture and art. Organized by Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art and curated by Lauren R. O’Connell, curator of contemporary art. This artwork is commissioned following W.A.G.E. guidelines. This December, Phoenix Art Museum will present the work of one of the most influential photographers of the 20th century in Richard Avedon: Among Creatives.


Drawn from the collection of the Center for Creative Photography (CCP) in Tucson, the exhibition presents more than 50 photographs by Richard Avedon (1923-2004), highlighting his distinctive large-scale portraits of fellow creative icons such as Marilyn Monroe, Marian Anderson, Paul McCartney and other celebrity subjects, in addition to his contributions to fashion photography.


Richard Avedon: Among Creatives will be on view at the Museum from December 6 – May 25, 2025.

Tthe 35th Annual Chandler Chamber Ostrich Festival, a community event offering a variety of nationally accredited headliners and family-friendly activities, will once again take place over two weekends: March 14-16 and March 21-23, 2025, at Tumbleweed Park in Chandler.


Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers will headline the main stage on Friday, March 14. Tickets are on sale now at OstrichFestival.com. Other acts to be announced soon.


The Chandler Chamber is excited to bring back Chandler Community Day at the festival, offering a special opportunity for residents to enjoy the first day of festivities at a discounted rate on Friday, March 14. The first 5,000 residents to redeem Community Day tickets will receive free entry. Afterward, general admission tickets will be available to Chandler residents for $5.
