ART MEETS POETRY The fifth edition of “Food for Thought” the poetry in fashion experience (F.F.T 2017) set for March 2nd, 2017, The Poetry B.L.O.C vows to paint flawless creativity on the canvases of the patrons’ hearts and minds, with its revamped, staple event, where Fabric Art meets Poetry in an extravaganza entitled "FOOD FOR THOUGHT – “food, words and Fabrics” ". Food for thought will be held at the Redbones Café, 1 Argyle Road, Kingston 5. Once again will define Redbones Cafe as a global arts capital, be it Fashion or Cuisine or Poetry while also serving as a platform to promote and support emerging talents from around the Island. After initiating the patrons in novelty, four times in a row Poetry B.L.O.C have decided to innovate by fusing the Creative expressions; FABRIC ART,CREATIVE COOKING and POETRY. Authentic Jamaican “artists” in collaboration with some of Jamaica's most celebrated poets are set to create a night that will be the envy of other events. Poetic pieces to be performed, will include the beautiful works of Mavric "D'Maverick" Webb, the author of the Amazon best seller “The Art of Poetry”; "Everard “Esquire”Smith”, two time winner of Redbones coveted "Poem of the Year" Competition and the author of “Birth”. "Chereese Lavonne", In 2015, Chereese was recognized by the Governor-General of Jamaica as a recipient of the Governor-General Achievement Award for Excellence and is Redbones reining champion. “Kadine Johnson”, Holds a BA. In English Language and is the author of “Pieces of Me”; “Christena Williams”, is an aspiring historian, however she is a renowned poet and Author of “Pearls Among Stones” published by Canadian, Brian Wrixon and later republished by the Author ; GrannMaster Sage whose performance can simply be called poetry in motion and “Kevaughn Ellis”. The audience of the night will experience ambiance of the Jazz & Blues themed Caribbean Fusion Cuisine Cafe, as they are entranced with dramatic and dynamic interactions between performances. Patrons will be awed, when the eye-catching designs of the new Fashion sensations Modish Designs and House of Fennel, raise their eyebrows, while the captivating, poetic prose, plays on their perspective, and raises their IQ. Their host will be Mr Abrahams, who is no stranger to enticing a crowd. With less than a month to go before curtain call, organizing is well on its way to producing the masterpiece that is "Food for Thought".
