Verde Canyon Railroad is proud to be a sponsor of the Phoenix-based wildlife rescue, Liberty Wildlife. All are welcome to visit Verde Canyon Railroad depot for Raptors at the Rails, an educational presentation on the patio on select dates 11:00am-12:45pm. This free event prior to the train’s 1:00 pm departure features close-up glimpses of Arizona raptors such as eagles, hawks, owls, vultures, falcons and kestrels, amazing residents of Liberty Wildlife’s educational program. During the summer months, Liberty shares cold-blooded creatures such as tortoises, lizards and snakes during "Reptiles at the Rails".

Start your Arizona adventure while the landscape is fresh and dewy, during the cooler hours of morning. The depot’s Copper Spike Cafe offers a tempting variety of breakfasts that may be purchased to carry aboard, and complimentary charcuterie awaits every guest on the train. 


Spacious living room-style seating near panoramic windows. Full bar service is available in every car. The only tough choice? Bloody Mary or Mimosa!  All seating cars connect to open-air viewing platforms.


May 3 - September 14: Morning trains depart at 11:00am and return by 3:00pm.


September 20 - October 25: Trains depart at 10:00am and return by 2:00pm. 


 

Saturday Morning Train Ride

Verde Canyon Railroad's seasonal celebration of Arizona craft beer is on tap starting September 14th and takes place daily at the depot through October 31, 11:00 am-12:45 pm, prior to all 1:00 pm departures. A wide selection of local AZ brews will be on tap on the patio beverage bar all autumn long. Enjoy a freshly-prepared lunch from the Copper Spike Cafe prior to pair with your beverage prior to boarding a historic train ride deep into the wild heart of Arizona.
