Operating under the direction of the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce (MIIC), JAMPRO promotes investments in a number of targeted sectors, which include the creative industries (film, music and entertainment), manufacturing, tourism,agriculture/agri-business, information and communication technology/knowledge services, mining and professional services. In facilitating both local and foreign direct investment, JAMPRO guides investors through the necessary processes and offers support even after their investments are operational.
As it relates to exports, JAMPRO is committed to the national effort to grow the Jamaican economy by increasing the export of Brand Jamaica goods and services. The agency works closely with local businesses to make them more competitive and export-ready, providing practical support, expert advice, important market intelligence and access to technical assistance that will enable them to expand their operations into new and existing markets.
