DAVID’S BISTRO, a classic French bistro, was opened in 1998 by David Chapman. After being chef and then chef/owner of Anthony’s Seafood Bistro (a local landmark at the time) for 18 years, Chapman decided to reinvent himself. His traditional bistro, with its small bar, vibrant red walls and checkered tablecloths, is a venerated downtown London culinary anchor. David and his daughter Natalie are your hosts, and David’s charming wife Cindy Kinsella is also often at hand to give you friendly, intelligent and professional service. David’s Bistro offers an extensive and sensibly priced wine list, with chalkboard additions, with most served by the glass or bottle. Many dishes are inspired takes with origins in French haute cuisine in the fine-dining realm, but the restaurant’s signature offerings are the authentic regional dishes that have become true French bistro classics.
