Ballet of Lights: Sleeping Beauty

A classic fairy tale is reimagined through ballet, light and movement in a visually driven stage production designed for all ages. Ballet of Lights: Sleeping Beauty in a Sparkling Show transforms the familiar story into a contemporary performance that blends classical choreography with glow-in-the-dark costume design. Performed by six local dancers, the production uses illuminated costumes to accentuate motion and form, creating a shifting visual landscape as the ballet unfolds. The one-hour performance reinterprets Sleeping Beauty through a balance of traditional dance technique and modern stage technology, emphasizing rhythm, color and physical expression rather than narrative dialogue. Created by María Farelo and Cristian Pérez of Luma Artistas S.L., the show offers a compact, immersive experience that highlights movement and visual design. The production is presented at Miami Theater Center in Miami Shores on September 19, December 5, January 9 and February 13, with performances at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. each day. Doors open 30 minutes prior to showtime. The venue is ADA compliant, and the performance is recommended for audiences ages five and up.
