Analyzing Public Health Trends and Community Needs Using GIS Analysis and Visualization

Learn how to use spatial data to track disease, find vulnerable populations, and plan community programs. This is a hands-on workshop and the instructor will lead you step-by-step through the workflow: learn how to turn patient addresses into map points privately complying with HIPAA, find statistically significant clusters of diseases, map the population living within walking distance or a drive-time of local clinics, rank neighborhoods by socioeconomic parameters or environmental parameters. Find associations between parameters and disease clusters.
