Islamic Heritage Month Celebration 2026

October is Canadian Islamic History Month, proclaimed by the Parliament of Canada in 2007, and Halifax is celebrating together. On Saturday, October 17, from 11 AM to 7 PM, the Islamic Heritage Month Celebration fills the Halifax Commons with food, culture and family fun. Explore cultural displays from Halifax’s Muslim communities, try food from local vendors, enjoy family activities and games, and catch the live stage program. It’s a relaxed, family-friendly day and an open invitation: everyone is welcome, whatever their faith or background. If you’ve never been to a Muslim community event, this is a great first one. Presented by the Atlantic Muslim Resource Centre. More info: +1 902 229-0608
