A Conversation with Bayunga Kialeuka

Join artist Bayunga Kialeuka on Monday, November 30, 2026, from 11 a.m. to noon for an engaging conversation about The Firmament, his exhibition of large-scale oil paintings exploring human consciousness and how our surroundings shape our perception of reality. From family, culture, and geography to architecture, education, media, and technology, the discussion examines how our experiences and inherited beliefs influence the way we see and understand the world.

Discover the connections between our physical environments and our inner worlds of memory, imagination, and emotion, while reflecting on a compelling question: How much of what we consider reality is shaped by what we are taught, and how much do we create through our own perspective?

The Firmament is currently on view at North Dade Regional Library through January 14, 2027.
