View of St. Peter's Anglican Church, commonly known as the Alley Church, situated in Alley, Clarendon. This Anglican Church was founded between 1671 and 1675, as the parish church of Vere. It is lauded as being one of the oldest churches in the island. The present brick structure, which holds the Alley Church, was constructed around 1715 on the same grounds. This type of postcard is one of the “Real Photograph” Series. As this title suggests, these were real pictures and was a format which gained popularity at the beginning of the 20th century.
